During an interview for videogaming247 at the 2008 Leipzig Games Convention, Patrick Redding - designer Ubisoft Montreal, revealed that Far Cry 3 is already in the early development stages. The producers will keep the action in Africa, a decision supported by the opportunities offered, as well as the production advantages to keeping the same setting as the one in the soon to be released Far Cry 2. Nevertheless, the Dunia engine is flexible enough to allow the designers to move the action to any setting deemed interesting for a first person shooter.

what do u guys think ?

I don't see anything wrong about start working on the graphics engine, models and textures. However, if I were a Crytex boss (Which, unfortunately, I am not) I would not start actually making the game until I had seen how FarCry 2 was recieved. Sure it looks awesome now, but FarCry 2 wouldn't be the first game in history with very good previews and a very big early fanbase to flunk (Look at Age of Conan, for example).

Hmm, all I hear now is "it looks amazing!". But didn't Crysis 'look' amazing too and turn out to be a mediocre to bad game (imo)? Same with FarCry. For the time it had some really nice graphics and the gameplay was good untill the mercs were replaced by some strange, skinless retarted gorilla mutants (yes, you read it right).
I'm just saying, esthetics are nothing if the gameplay is horrible.

Crysis it's not a mediocre game , it's still my fav ( ofcourse below tf2 ) crysis had excelent graphics but it turned out that u needed a monster to play it !

I'm sorry Bose, it is. CryTek continue to fuck up their games with supernatural enemies, bad AI, poor story and overhype. I'm glad Ubisoft are single-handedly developing Far Cry 2. Crysis and Far Cry 1 are mediocre games not worthy of anyone's cash.

Me too except

Display Card!: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 256 /
ATI Radeon X1650
Comparing your display card NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS with the requirement NVIDIA GeForce 6800
• Your display card is slightly less powerful in raw performance

LOL, I played F@&ING CRYSIS with that graphic card

Just a minor detection error. The websites claims that the 8800GT is more powerful than my 8800GTS 512MB. Which it totally untrue. :6

Also, you can say fucking.

Yeah, I've tried searching for Far Cry on my Steam and it came up with just the trailers - no product page.

256MB, i think so. I just thought the yellow sentence was pretty funny.
If i remember right, there is no such (official) thing as a 512MB 8600GTS?

There's always going to be some graphics cards with alternative memory. Take my 8800GTS, for example. Standard memory would be 320MB or 640MB, but mine is 512MB.

And yes, the yellowed text is humorous. They should really update their graphics cards information.

What you talkin' abaht Spiegal?

Far Cry 2 is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, not Crytek.
