It was intentionally cheesy. ^^
I came up with this idea on konjak's forums when somebody showed that he had "S" ratings on all the levels and after I watched several of UltraJMan's videos. =)
I have aanother one (of the second level) but I couldn't be arsed to record a commentary for several months now. ;-)

By the way - the image is much clearer in the high resolution version. You could force it by appending &ap=%2526fmt%3D18 to the youtube link, e.g.:
