Contest: Win 1 of 3 Crysis: Warhead Keys!
Zips @ 3:15 pm pdt on 9/23/08 - site updates
MyInternetServices and Electronic Arts have given CS-Nation not one, not two, but three keys to give away for Crysis: Warhead! That's right, three lucky winners will each receive a digital copy of Crysis: Warhead.

As such, we're starting up a new contest around these parts. Simply MS Paint your fondest first-person shooter memory. Perhaps it was that time you scored 3 headshots in a single shot, maybe it was that time you first fired up Doom and encountered the Cyberdemon.

Whatever your best memory is, we want to see it. There are a few rules though, and here they are.
The image must be no larger than 1024x768.

Please try to only send in .JPEG or .JPG images.

When submitting, please include this information in the body of your e-mail --
CS-Nation Username:
Valid E-Mail Address:
Game Depicted in Picture:
Very Brief Description of your picture:

Must be created in MS Paint or some other, non-professional art program. Screenshots that are merely converted using MS Paint won't be considered.

The winners will be based on the uniqueness of their memory, and to a much lesser extent, their artistic ability. I at least have to be able to look at it and see something close to what your description reads.

The deadline for this contest will be 11:59PM EST on Friday, September 26. All entries received after this time will not be included in the consideration.

All entries MUST be submitted via this e-mail link!

The winners will be announced here and each winner will be emailed their key and instructions on how to redeem it.
Remember, this contest would not have been possible if it weren't for the partnership between MyInternetServices and Electronic Arts. Be sure to go give MyIS a huge hug the next time you pick up a game server hosting plan from them.

Total Gaming Network has their own Warhead contest underway as well. They have five copies to give out. Between us, that's eight chances to win!
Submissions: www.csnation.net

I say we should try and knock something up together 8)

OK I painted something. If you can even call this a painting...

Basically what it is, and this truly is my earliest fondest FPS memory, is when I first played an FPS over a LAN or any kind of multi system set up for that matter. Well it was that gem of a classic Duke Nukem 3D. So me and my best mate (who didn't really play games by the way) jumped into the first level of the game which if anybody has played the game can remember, has the cinema and other shit.

So I started off on the roof and we had a laugh shouting at each other through the wall that we were going to fuck each other up. So I leapt down off of the roof and started scowering the streets for the dickhole. I decided that he must be hiding in the cinema cause unless he was behind the dumpster then he must be.

So I burst into the cinema in spectacular fashion. And by this I mean I ran through the back door and started jumping up and down on the rows of seats. Then I spotted it, something moving up in the projector room! I bolt through the doors at the rear and out into the concessions stand. I span wildly on the spot then suddenly he tries to leap on me like that pig in Predator that gets stabbed to death.

Like that pig though my mate can't fight worth a shit. He tries to shoot me with the pistol but just ultimately isn't any good. So I chased him into the toilet and I proceeded to kick him to death. It still stands as my most treasured gaming memory. Hearing my mate shouting obscenities as I smashed my leg into his face until he was no more than a quivering heap is one that brings warm fuzzy feelings to my tummy even to this day.

It's not important. He can still put it in WAD and have a kick ass texture for DN3D maping! :)

Yeah thanks. I would have made more effort to make it look half decent but I simply didn't care enough to do so.

As for the background colour I wanted to do something that resembled a neon glow. After I finished drawing the two Dukes though I just couldn't be bothered so I just filled the whole thing "pink" and saved that shit.

Get some!

Did you see what epic crap actually won the contest? Clearly there must have been some shady things going on behind the scenes since McMoist's picture is like 10x better than the winners put together. 0_o

Well to be fair I did register just to enter the competition. I didn't even have the decency to go post something on their forums.

If there was an art comp here, would you really want to give a prize away to some guy you didn't even know over the regulars and the members? I would have dissapeared with the game and never returned to that website. I don't even like Counterstrike.

Hell I didn't even go back to see who did win.
