Oooooh, now you name my top 3 most hated sites, although you left out hyves, probably due to the fact that it's dutch ?
Nah, if I'd wanna upload my pictures, I'd set up a quikc website to upload them, but no way in HELL I'm uploading my pictures... With 10 MB per picture and thousands of em...
Nah, just screw piclens, I'll go for acdsee pro 2.5 only now then.

Or go for Irfanview:

http://www.irfanview.com/

It's free and even if it doesn't look like much it has a shitload of features. I'm not using any photo viewer/manager so this is not a fanboy ad. ^^

I use irfanview for batch changes, adobe cs to tweak and tune my raw photos and I use acdsee pro 2.5 to quickly scan through my raw photos.
This is by far the most ideal combination, although cs does have built in batch conversion as well. Acdsee just rocks to quickly go through your photos and the pro versioin deals with raw as well.
I just wanted some cool feature to go through you pictures like cooliris was offering, but I'm totally not for putting my pictures online, or even offline in html for that matter. I already have the features that I'm looking for, just liked the way cooliris looked and did with your pictures like putting them in a picture wall without any effort. In the end, it does takes some effort to get your pictures ordened in html before that, not worth the trouble.
