So probably some of you might have heard of it.
It's coming out end february and was wondering which of you PS3 guys will be buying this awesome game?
Mine is already pre-ordered.
For those of you who don't know it, just have a look at this video preview on gametrailers.

THIS is going to be some serious peace of software. <3

I'll pick it up if the reviews are good. Killzone was hyped as well, and turned out to be garbage.

Yay, already looking forward for this. :D
What did you think about the beta, was it good?
Does the multiplayer rock?
Oh, and give me your PSN ID.

I'd say it was a very mixed reaction when it was released. Some, like me, thought it was a real neat shooter, others thought it was average at best while the rest thought it was pure shit. With that said I thought it could've been a lot better though - graphically it was quite impressive but the short draw distance, terrible framerate, glitchy (but humorous) visuals, annoying and overacted voice-overs made it somewhat a very up and down experience from start to finish. Although I got to admit that the art style, especially the general visual aspect of the Helghast's, is one of the best I've ever seen - very Nazi like with their trench coats and in general very dark appearance.

Not sure if it's okay to discuss it, since everyone who participated (although many broke it anyway) had to basically sign a non-disclosure agreement, but since it was a few months ago and while the game is almost here I can say that... yeah, the mutliplayer does indeed rock. A large amount. ;)
Think of it as a mix between Call of Duty 4 and Team Fortress 2 and you got yourself Killzone 2.

Didn't you add me a few months ago? Have to check again. Fastson is the name either way.

Looking forward for this one. Killzone 1 was a POS (IMO), but this one looks good and from what I have been listening from other players, it plays as good as CoD. I was hoping I could play the beta, but nah. Let's play the demo and see how it turns out.

Killzone one was pretty average, it was hyped to be Playstation's Halo and it sooo wasnt. I still have hope, that Criterion will make Black2, because Black was imho best FPS of previous console generation.

I'm keeping my eye on it, at least it looks like there won't be any technical issues this time.

Yep. Still, I liked the universe.

Woah, Black looked great and all, but the gameplay got old really quick. Oh, and the final fight was really frustrating.

But before it got old it was freakin awesome for playstation2, I can only imagine how awesome Black2 would look using Burnout Paradise engine  :o

Reviews are coming out now :)

Looks like I will buy it

http://www.eurogamer.net/

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/949/949161p1.html

A 9 from Eurogamer, the website I use for my intelligence about games

A 9.4 from IGN, the crappy website that usually overrates stuff in my opinion

Anyhow read the reviews if you want to get a bigger impression

to keep things short

sound: brilliant

graphics: fantastic

ai: so far so good (takes cover, blind fires, tries to surround you, screams commands, "argh, out of ammo" )

controls: slower than other shooters (cod 4/5, resistance 2), but due to the cover system, which needs a bit of training to get used to it (L2+L1 zoom+left stick+right stick aiming+R1 shooting  ), the whole gameplay is slower (which is not bad at all) and more tactical

overall atmosphere: AWESOME :4

Just finished up the demo, and my first thought is that the quality is absolutely brilliant, can't fault it.

I can however fault the ps3 on it's God awful ps3 analogue sticks so i wont be buying it, i dnt know what it is but i dnt get on with ps3 FPS, 360 is alright.

Absolutely brilliant game though i'm sure.

Could plug a mouse in? lol :D

Oh and i agree with Brink, the cover system is a little overly complicated. A little tweek that would of been nice would be to allow you to auto scope/aim if you press in R3, so when you peak out it instantly goes to scope/aim mode.

also when in aim mode, it should stay out unless i push the other way to go back in, as it stand i have to hold L2 to hold the cover, keep analogue stick pushed right/up to hold the aiming, press in R3 to aim and then R2 to fire?

lololol.

edit: apparently a zoom hold option in the controls

Yeah, you can tweak the controls to your taste.
I used the standard ones, and when you get used to it its just fantastic. ;)
Really like the feeling of the game.
Just can't wait to play online when the game comes out and perhaps meet you guys there! 8)

Curse my super sensitive control tastes...

apparently it's been acknowledged that it wasn't picked up in beta testing and might be patched.

I've read about this alot of times, from people moaning to people explaining its made on purpose to feel more realistic (because they wanted to transmit an overall heavyness of the player).
Tbh I don't know...Fact is, I had no problem whatsoever with controls in the demo. So nothing did feel wrong or laggy to me.

completed the sp campaign last night and it was really fun although a bit short, took me about 7h30mins on soldier difficulty!
now i'm going to get some more trophies and take a look into the mp maps to be prepared to jump right in the action when the servers go online on thursday/friday :4

i'm really looking forward to that warzone mode, i played a couple of rounds in skirmish mode with bots and so far it looks great, i like the idea of not playing only one mode (death-match, team-deathmatch, capture the flag) but several modes during one round (assassination, capture the speaker  ,take and hold different points, normal team-deathmatch,...)
