What if I was to round up 10,000 people to go to London and try and stop these Muslim's from basically picketing our Freedom of Speech? How long do you think that would last? Do you think the Home Secretary would see the error of her ways and grant this Dutch Politician entry?

Like fuck she would. Riot vans would grab anybody Caucasian by the scruff of the neck and pile them into a jail cell for the night.

Think about that though. It's only a matter of time before that starts happening. And it's not good news for anybody, cause it never remains civil.

I'm not really in a position to comment, having had little to no contact with said muslim immigrants (hell, we don't get immigrants at all around here)

but you are right that they seem to be given, if anything, a greater degree of 'freedom', or a wider berth from society, however you want to put it, which isn't fair no matter what the context, and the slippery slope this puts us on. that may well be why they didn't let this guy in; he's an extreme right wing politician and if the immigrants keep on coming as they are and continue to crap in our crumpets (to summarise what mcmoist said) then, at some point, those sort of political idealogies are going to get the attention as they're the ones that can 'fix it'. but if it gets out of hand it turns into nigh-on fascism and we're on the slippery slope. so the government may just be trying to put off what it sees as a danger; the question is, is it an inevitablity?

You know what ETMI, you might be happy for everybody to stroll on into Britain and dictate how they think life here should take place but I'm not. You're not a great deal younger than me but the way I was raised, I don't take shit from anybody who tries to change my way of life. Oddly enough, that's a luxury I take from living in a democracy. and, well, I probably am very naive about this sort of thing, simply because my life hasn't even come close to being affected by these people so far. it's like they don't exist, honestly, nothing to do with the stance I take towards them. the closest I get is at the indian takeaway, probably sounds ridiculous but it's true. so yeah, you're right when you say that if it gets into the cold, hard north then it most likely is too late. we just find it hard to care because it hasn't affected us yet, and as backward and selfish as that may sound (and I do think that the ignorance on out part is shocking, not just on this but on the outside world in general), it's the fact of the matter, which is an attitude we should change instead of getting complacent and assume it's all happening 'down south'. but I get the feeling that's not going to change any time soon, until it gives us a rude awakening... then we'll be sorry.

except, we might not be. everyone up here is too complacent to give a sod when it's actually happening, never mind a millions miles away. my part of the world is completely backward in so many ways, where the topic that causes the most (if any) debate is describing exactly what kind if rain we're having.
