A required update for Team Fortress 2 is coming. It will probably be available in about 30 minutes. The specific include:

- Players who are stunned by a Scout now take 50% less damage
- Increased the minimum distance to stun a player with the Sandman
- Fixed problem where clients were unable to join a team or maintain a connection to the server
- Fixed Scout taunt kill achievement firing for people who didn't actually qualify
- Fixed client crash in when creating muzzle flash effects
- Fixed client crash when determining which disguise weapon to use for a spy
- Fixed Natascha's chain not being drawn on the view model
- Fixed stun code regression that resulted in a subtle reduction of Natascha's slowdown effect
- Fixed rocket & grenade jumps not propelling players as far as they're supposed to

And with this update, you will no longer need to run with "-NoQueuedPacketThread".

am i the only that is crying about this update? :P
this update clearly makes the FaN even more useless, cause it was only good in combo with a full stun, now you cant even kill a scout with the FaN.

and well the sandman, its fun to use, but stun isnt good @ all anymore in a 1on1 fight because of the damage reduction. so bye bye sandman..

YAY, a useless update.. lets all equip the normal scout weapons and play with OP weapons that the medic(ubersaw/blutsauger) and pyro(axethingie), heavy(gloves, natasha in a lot of cases) did get with the updates.
YAY valve for fucking up the scout update.. YAY

Nope, the sandman was ridiculous, they should scrap it and make a new weapon for the scout, I agree that the FaN sucks balls. The energy drink is just a pile of bollocks. But the sandman was still ridiculous and definitely shouldn't be allowed in 6v6 since it completely takes away someones skill for up to 8 seconds, and there is no counter except if you want to waste an uber on the player to save him. Also if you stun the medic when he is ubered then the enemy team will get owned.

I am glad that it has been nerfed. The medic and pyro updates have been by far the best in terms of weapons which are actually useful.

If bonk actually made you faster, rather than people being able to follow you and kill you when you run out of bonk, then it might actually be useful. I think the FaN is beyond repair. I still think the sandman should be a daze effect without a -% to damage ;)

yeah i didnt say the sandman didnt had to get nerfed @ all, but the damage reduction is just ridicules. i would prefer to keep the stun as it is, but with a max of 3-4 seconds.. enough for a scout to take someone down, if he's close enough. and most classes can survive for that long with a team. its still team fortress 2..

good thing im gonna play ut2k4 a lot more than this...

The energy drink is actually pretty good in 6v6, one of our opponents used it and jumped out on gravelpit to distract the sentry while the demoman ran out right after to take it down without having to waste an uber.

A stun shouldn't be in this game, so this nerf is fine with me.. now it should not work on ubers. I mean; an uber stops EVERYTHING except a little baseball? Wtf~

The old scattergun was already overpowered, so why not give the scout another overpowered weapon? xP

Still does not stop spies backstabbing a stunned opponent which is actually quite a useful tactic...

It also lets the following classes spam the person to death Demomen + Heavies + Soldiers xD Playing as sniper, the ball makes it much easier than it already is.

I did,

now I'm not saying a masterfull rocket jumper cause I'm not. but I've been known to throw a few curses at whoever is willing to listen due to the fact I can't jump as far as I used to

It was about time valve did something about the sandman, it was very annoying to get hit by the sandman and then be at the mercy of the all enemy team :4

Rocket jumping is uber now, you can go nearly as far as a demo jump used to go (now demo jumps go even further). Maybe I just didn't notice it go bad, but I definitely notice it being good :4 I think it's probably because I have got better at rocket jumping when it went bad, so now that its normal again it seems a lot better ;)

That was actually the problem with it. The sandman made the Scout absolutely overpowered in a 1on1 against any class. Now youll have to get some of your mates to spam a stunned enemy to get him down, so its a much more teambased weapon now which is better imo.

Still lame but not as much as before :18

I wont be suprised, if further FaN and bonk improvements are incoming. Imho first failed class update this is - all weapons will be rather used for fun ( like flaregun ) not for proper use.

Flare Gun isnt a fun weapon. It just doesnt make sense to use it in all situations. Same with Bonk and Fan.

agree with you guys, i use vanilla scout tbh, sometimes use the sandman just for kicks though, sitting at the back stunning people. Scout is credit to team! totally!
