Now these graphics look very tasty.

I've seen this vid today on HD and I have to say I am not that impressed.
I never played Crysis, just saw some HD videos with max settings and Crysis does look better than this.
Look at the draw distance in the video, it's worse than Cry Engine 2.
Because the purpose of Cry Engine 3 is to bring that engine for consoles.
I mean the first 30 seconds of the video are really nothing special in my eyes.
Of course after that comes the island setting with all the plants, trees etc.
That shure looks good.
But tbh, it still was kinda dissapointing for me... :|

In the past I was a total graphic whore. About 2005/2006 shooters achieved too realistic graphics for me. To exaggerate: I had no problems shooting a dozen soldiers in Doom but I don't want to shoot a single soldier in CoD5 or whatever. If TF2 had a realistic background and graphic style I coulnd't be arsed to play it.

Unless TF2 gets boring and a new even better comic game is released I won't upgrade my PC in the next years.

Plus you have to remember that this is footage from 360 and PS3. Its pretty for such old hardware.

It really looks good :o , but my money spending days on pc hardware are over (saving my money for some special games that will appear later this year like StarCraft 2 Wings of Liberty ) :ugly:

Yeah, fuck spending money to upgrade my PC. It does what I want just fine. It allows me to play games, capture movies at a nice solid clip and use plenty of editing software and similiar tools without it becoming bogged down.

Crysis was nice and all, but it was dull as fuck. I got so bored I just uninstalled it.

the only thing i can see is the fog of war (and the color correction)
PC versions will always be better ..

I'm just saying that footage and pics that have been shown so far are worse than CryEngine 2.
CryEngine 3 is as far as I know more destined for consoles (hence the console videos and stuff).
And of course they can't match High-End PC level.
As far as I know there is no PC footage out yet, so I'm basically just saying that I don't know how people can say this looks awesome if it for now looks worse than the old engine. :wink:

I see it different :)

I see a nearly comparable graphic quality unleashed on a far inferior system. Thats a big technical achievement for me.

My PC plays Crysis Warhead on Medium (Mainstream settings) and it looks better than CryEngine 3 on that pic. However, I want to see it on the PC, then we can talk :D
