A required update for Team Fortress 2 is now available. Please run hldsupdatetool to receive. The specific changes include:

Game Changes:
- Reworked the character loadout screens to support future features.
- Added the ability for players to permanently delete items from their inventory using the new Backpack menu. This does not reset achievements. Once an item has been deleted it can never be re-earned
- Added the ability for players to reset their player stats using the Reset Stats button on the Stats menu. This does not reset achievements
- Added a "player_teleported" game event that is sent when a player is teleported
- Updated cp_junction_final to score per-capture instead of per-round. This fixes the map not working correctly with Tournament mode and the stopwatch
- Scouts now drop the flag if they're carrying it when they start phasing

Fixes:
- Fixed instances where Steam connection problems would cause some unlocked items to be unusable
- Fixed the custom crosshair menu not clearing itself when "None" is selected for non-English clients
- Fixed warning about not being able to execute skill1.cfg when starting the dedicated server

When looking around the steam forums, it seems the "dropped" items make an appearance.. hence the backpack thing..

Ah sweet, valve added the function to seriously screw yourself. I think they added that to get back at all the uber stupidity on the world :mrgreen:

Seriously, what an amazing stupid function to add. Have there seriously been ppl asking how to permanently delete their weapons and such so they can never earn it back? Mwahahahhahahahahha :lol:

I am looking forward to new updates but I hope they don't turn the game even more into a roleplaythingy. I dont want to loose just because I had bad luck or not enough time to collect item xyz.

I can't understand why anyone would want to perminently destroy their unlockable weapons... ?

I hardly use the backburner for example, and usually using the shotgun not the flare.

but you know, sometimes they are good!

so if i press delete , i will loose the weapon forever and if i press discard i just make room in the backpack , but i can readd the weapon later ? or what ? :ugly:

I think.. perhaps the idea will be that, yes, you will have to manage your backpack space (which in my opinion is a load of arse wank) and then have to collect them off the ground again if you want it? maybe?

However i'm totally psyched about hats :P I hope they have pointless cosmetic hats you can unlock, so i could use like.. a party hat whenever i wanted or whatever :D

Bart.... I keep wondering why you actually play this game, every time there's a new update I see you complain. since you're always saying things are MUCH better the way things are I don't understand how you managed to move on from mario at all...

As my pic probably stated. I dont want upgradeable weapons, or dropped weapons giving some boosts/extras whatever.
I'm already a little concerned about the hats, although they are acceptable, depending on what they re giving. :mrgreen:
