Good news here as far as I'm concerned, achievements and weapons decoupled and headgear is cosmetic.

The Necromancer (4970)
Achievements and weapons decoupled? Whoa! Could it be that Valve tracking the use of the Achievement Unlocker after each class pack came to a conclusion that people hate this system? :-D

Two thumbs up if they roll with it!

BTW - I'm a bit worried about this:
Quote:
In reality, the hats will be purely cosmetic in nature--at least initially. Valve's Robin Walker told us that while the TF2 team is interested in exploring more radical, RPG-style mechanics, the plan is to slowly introduce these new elements in order to "measure the effect of each change, both on the game and on the community."

I don't like the idea of helms at all, the characters are fine the way they are.

Even more cosmetic, polygon-adding-features to dramaticly decrease the FPS..
Ah well we'll see how it ends :D

Dude wut? Even a freezer should have enough power to display TF2 on a decent FPS. A simple gfx board is cheap as hell.

This is the best part btw :ugly: (bold letters):
Quote:
Shack: Some users are concerned that you can permanently delete hard-won items from your backpack. Should they be? How is that system intended to work?

Robin Walker: Not really. We put in some strong wording in the update to discourage them from doing it for now, but as soon as the next update ships they'll be able to find any item, including ones they've deleted in the past. The reason we shipped it in the last update, even though there was no real reason at all to use it, was to get some real world testing. So thanks to the 270 people who went ahead and deleted items! In addition, it gave our support team some warmup practice in handling the inevitable customer issues resulting from this kind of system.

Well dude, many people (at least the ones who care about every fps they get ;) ) noticed the fps isn't that great anymore as in the beginning after all the patching and stuff :?

Well it's pretty fast for people on relatively modern PC's but my friend plays on a laptop that has a Nvidia 7600 on it and is already having some serious framerate issues.
I've advised him to go and buy a proper PC and stay away from laptop gaming for the foreseeable future.

Found at the bottom of tf_english.txt (tf\resource)
Quote:
"TF_Arena_F4_ChangeClass" "Press 'F4' to re-roll your class!"
Quote:
// TF2 MMO
"TF_MMO_LFG" "Looking For Group"
"TF_MMO_Quest1" "You must kill %s1 %s2 to complete this quest."
"TF_MMO_Monster1" "Boars"
"TF_MMO_Monster2" "Rats"
"TF_MMO_Monster3" "Bats"
"TF_MMO_Monster4" "Wolves"
"TF_MMO_Monster5" "Spiders"
Valve just won several internets

Yes, as a joke. It's just a joke. Like Camelot is a model.

OR IS IT?
