We don't know if the unlockables will still be linked with the achievments. Valve announced they wanted to change the system, not sure if begining with this update or not.

The unlockables won't be tied to the achievements - notice how there aren't any milestones for both the Sniper and the Spy.

Updates usually came about 11-12pm CET ;) And I think they wont introduce new weapon unlocks system yet. And I did this config for relaxed pyro play during first few days of update
alias "WM1" "+forward; +attack"
alias "SM1" "+back; +attack"
alias "AXE" "slot3; +forward; +attack"
bind "mouse1" "WM1"
bind "mouse2" "SM1"
bind "mouse3" "AXE"
So you have free hand to change tv channels or eat carrots, while spies keep burning :mrgreen:

We can play cowboys(or cowgirls) and indians, Pyro's can be the indians with thier axetinguihers and snipers can be the cowboys but with arrows :lol:

Now this is an impressive update, however I'm a bit worried about the following:

Added new revolver replacement, The Ambassador. First shot is very accurate and will cause a critical hit if it hits an enemy's head. Accuracy is poor for a period after that

Added new watch replacement, the Dead Ringer. When armed, you will appear in all ways to die to the first damage you take from an enemy. You'll be cloaked for 8 second after taking this damage. Upon de-cloaking you'll make a loud, distinct sound

The ambassador sounds overpowered, a good spy should kill any class now one on one except maybe heavies and the dead ringer's distinct sound seems like a weird decision.
Not sure if I can go to bed now, update the servers quick I need to play :D

And please, please don't start about anything being overpowered before we actually get to test it - if anything is wrong I'm sure it will be fixed in the coming weeks but testing needs time.

As to the Spy changes (some of them at least) I actually wonder why they hadn't been implemented for such a long time...

Sooo you have to randomly find for example Ambasador to use it ? If you for example can collect new weapons in few hours its ok, it means less people doing stupid things for achievements and new weapons, I read, that you can have full backpack of the same weapon, which means youll have to delete them all the time.

Its stupid that you can get weapons you already have, so you have to get 6 items out of 15 or w/e it is, you could start off with getting 6 ones you already have :/

lol, what would the melee weapon be? It would change the spy from being a spy to something else, kind of like what they did to the sniper actually, they made him a red indian.

first impressions on the new update:
double payload is manic and brilliant
the new unlock system, while getting rid of achievement farmers and such, does feel a bit... rubbish. it's a bit too random and I'm unlocking things I've already got (KGB again)
the huntsman is lethal - both literally, and in the way that it's completely shitting terrifying
jars of piss can be used for snipers to put extinguish themselved! heehee
