well, this is a long shot and I doubt that there's a way to do it as I haven't backed it up anywhere, but would it possible to retrieve my old google chrome bookmarks? a power cut earlier today must have deleted the old version (it was open at the time) and I couldn't find any trace of it left on my hard drive. so, I've had to install a new one and, of course, all of my bookmarks, saved passwords etc are gone.

I know it's probably not possible as I don't have any backups, but if you've any ideas about how to get them back it would be much appreciated.

If you didn't delete anything the old version left behind then your bookmarks should be in the folder Users/youraccount/Appdata/Local/Google/Chrome/User Data/old folder if it's there

At least that's the path for Vista. ^^

you could even run a recoverer after a format, like "get data back"
