I may be the only one who misses them but what happened to the two maps that came with the scout update; cp_egypt and cp_junction. I haven't seen them at all on the SpA servers and you can not change the next map to these using SpA points. I thought these maps were pretty good.

I apologise if this has been covered somewhere else before.

@ The following is entirely my opinion @

Junction is too small for 26 players
Egypt should be checked out again because it got a few updates after we already removed it from our map cycle.

I agree junction is horrible for such a large server but egypt is an ok map, I for one would rather play egypt then dustbowl or 2fort.

Yeah I missed some maps a lot and some variation to dustbowl and goldrush would be nice, since there are only 11 maps played ( + sometimes Turbine ) :(

I admit that cp_junction was a small map but I still thought it was decent. I think that it would be better to have that on than pl_hoodoo.

I didn't like both maps, egypt is way too big, too long walk times, set ups of spawns and where you have to go after are inbalanced, etc.

I miss Egypt. Thought it was quite a fun map and would love to play it again.

Don't care much about Junction. I have the same opinion as most of you here; it's way too small and crampy.

Saint also killed the people who developed the maps, so there is no chance of them ever being in the map cycle. What a shame :ugly:

Maybe buried somewhere in Antarctica there is a source code of deleted maps, so they can be rescued ?

junction wasn't all that bad, it certainly had it's moments anyway. I probably enjoyed it more than egypt, actually.

I think you should bring Egypt back as well. Personally, I think the SpA servers is currently running too much of the old, standard (and increasingly boring) maps. Some time with maps like Egypt, Turbine, Fastlane, Freight and Badwater Basin (to name a few) would be a breath of fresh air IMO.

badwater and fastlane are in our cycle.

I know, but I have to be very lucky to get to play on those maps. Most of the time when I join one of the servers, it's either Gravel Pit, Granary or Dustbowl being played. Sometimes I'm lucky to hit a game on Fastlane, but often the game ends a few minutes after I join, and then moves on to one of the three maps mentioned before.

Maybe just for a change on one of the servers, remove Gravel, Granary and Dustbowl in exchange for something else. Maybe make a vote so we can see what other maps people like. :)

It's not too big. The problem with egypt is that there are so many chokepoints. For instance, take the second checkpoint on the first stage. This one is easily covered by a few snipers and some sentries. And since the SpA servers are public servers, you usually don't get a proper demo-medic or pyro-medic team. Thus, RED can relax, maybe take down a few spies and that's that.

A lot of times i saw demo-medic pairs on that stage of egypt, but it was far too easy to see where and when the uber was coming from, and one pyro with blowback could stop it easily. (Which isn't always the case on maps like dustbowl and gravelpit)
