Almost required. ^^

On a more serious note - be sure to suggest only quality maps - check the ratings on FPSBanana, perhaps find a server to play the map on, run around the map locally etc.

As a general guideline to our (Saint's) standards - if a map looks anything like ctf_turbine it surely wouldn't be accepted. ^^

You're more likely to get elected king of the year then to get a map through our critics, but feel free to suggest some. Once every while we test a bunch of suggested maps on one of our servers and have a great time doing it. Not a lot get through, cuz usually, custom maps are overall shitty. Too long walk times, not balanced, poor graphics, etc. But do mention em, if you happen to find a good one, we'll be very happy with it. If we find out you wasted our time, we'll come and get your balls to flame grill em and feed en t0 mcmoist who will have em as a traditional scottish breakfast! :twisted: :4 :wink:

As good as I remember, this map was tested there, and it's awesome :ugly: . IMHO one of the best community CTF maps.

Warpath is the biggest idiotic shitcunt fucker map that was ever created for TF2, main reasons being the incredible fucking long walktime to the middle point (especially putting heavies into a disadvantage), the poor design in terms of routes to points (point 2 and 4 only have 2 ways that lead to the middle point, 3 if you count in the tunnel that leads below the middle point) that are just too close together and being camped easily by a few sentries and the last point that is the definition of "stalemate".

This map is nearly a 1:1 copy from the TFC version and that. just. does. NOT. WORK!

Frontier had fps issues among other things and used to empty the servers quite fast.
What I'd like to see is pl_waste, cp_follower and maybe freight final.
On the arena server I'd like arena_harvest, arena_offblast, arena_lighthouse.

cp_follower is in our SpA menu, isn't it? Freight, too - perhaps not the final version, if it's not the final, then we should update it immediately.

We won't have custom maps in the regular mapcycle though unless the idea of a custom map server is revived.

Yeah, populating the old custom map server was a bitch. Even with a lot of us in there at the weekend.

Still, it was a laugh. I miss that server. It had a crazy, fun kinda atmosphere to it.

Yeah, it basically went downward after I couldn't be arsed to idle on it 24/7 anymore.

We actually had a pretty smart rotation that alternated normal and custom maps depending on the player count but it's like with all the servers except for the initial three - if people aren't idling to get more players you won't get anywhere...
