Title^

I've had this problem for quite some times, i have asked around on forums, but nothing really led to anything, so i ask here.

Every time the phone ringer, internet shuts down for 5-10 seconds, then comes back, when you hang up, it does the same thing, wich is annoying in matches when you have to reconnect to mumble and the server, so anyone have any clues whats going on? :?

The filter that separates the phone from the internet in the plug thingie in your wall was installed the wrong way.

I've had the same issue with the internet at my parents' house so I called the phone company that also provides the internet service and they sent someone to fix it.

Make sure you have a filter installed on each plug that has a phone attached to it.

So phone ---> filter ----> plug
For each and every phone in your house.

If that's already the case then one of your filter is toasted and you need to get new ones.

we have ADSL splitters, wich you install, one way go's to your dsl, the other to all of your phones. Just 1 splitter required.

Nerdish, tbh. (455)
http://www.ybet.be/en-hardware-2-18/adsl-filter.htm

best i found in 10 sec.

basicaly you need a splitter between every phone and the 'central' telephone line
and a splitter between the central line and the modem (it can do this at the same time if nessesairy)

If that doesn't fix it you will need to get in touch with your ISP as your local exchange will have a bearer fault on your line easily fixed though :)

If it's ADSL afaik you should only require one of those splitter things, just make sure it's plugged in to the "main" phone socket.
I'm no expert though, but that was the case at my parents home *shrug*
