A required update for Team Fortress 2 is now available. Please run hldsupdatetool to receive it. The specific changes include:

General
- Added an option to the advanced multiplayer menu to select left or right handed view models
- Fixed a bug where a spectator's wearable items could be seen floating around the player they were spectating
- Fixed a bug where a fake Spy hand would appear on the screen of other players
- Custom death animations now only play 25% of the time
- Fixed teleporters not being build-able in some places where they should be (such as within the pit at the end of Badwater Basin)
- Fixed rare client crash on connection and level change
- Removed refract from water ripples caused by bullet impacts for performance reasons
- Added log entries for player extinguished events using the medigun, jarate, flamethrower and dispenser
- Started tracking localization settings to help make decisions regarding localization in the future
- Fixed the blank progress bar in the upper-left of the screen when the client scheme is reloaded

Mapmaker requests
- Added spawn flag to func_respawnroomvisualizer that allows it be non-solid to players
- Added SetSolid input to func_respawnroomvisualizer to change solidity to players dynamically
- Added OnWonByTeam1 and OnWonByTeam2 outputs to the TFGamerulesProxy

Sniper
- Fixed a bad detection case in the "Friendship is Golden" achievement
- Changed the description of the "Triple Prey" achievement so it better describes how to get it
- Critical arrows now have a trail and correctly deal enhanced damage
- The Huntsman now defaults to be right handed
- Friendly arrows will no longer trigger the near miss sound on you
- Fixed several sources of floating arrows

Spy
- Fixed disguised Spies occasionally looking like they have invulnerability, instead of the correct fake Spy mask
- Disguised spies will no longer lose their disguise weapon when they interact with a weapon locker
- Fixed a bug where the spy's watch would randomly change models during play
- Fixed uncloaked spies flickering in and out of the cloak effect when taking damage
- The Cloak and Dagger now always regenerates at its intended rate. Previously it only regenerated at the correct rate when the spy was cloaked
- Increased the Cloak and Dagger regeneration rate slightly
- Capped the rate of energy loss from moving faster than run speed (falling / air toss) while cloaked with the Cloak and Dagger
- The Dead Ringer's cloak consume rate has been slightly reduced, giving about an extra second of cloak time on a full meter
- Emerging from the Dead Ringer's cloak now drains up to 40% of the cloak meter instead of 100%. This drain only happens if the meter is at least 60% full
- The Dead Ringer's cloak meter can now be regenerated from ammo sources
- The Ambassador now only crits when fully accurate and no longer penetrates enemies
- The Spy can no longer change weapons from the knife while shocked by the Razorback
- Force-A-Nature & Flamethrower air blast knockback effects no longer work on disguised spies
- Fixed disguised Spies showing the wrong teleporter effects when using an enemy teleporter

DR buff was kinda needed I guess.
C&D nerf incoming? :ugly: There was no real need to buff it that much imo.
Ambassador nerf, I hope it can still shoot through buildings. No headshots on low precision shots is kinda harsh.

Awesome changes to the Dead Ringer! Basically exactly the way I thought it should work (not complete drain, but enough drain to prevent cloak spamming) - I don't know about recharging it with ammo boxes - might be a swing to the overpowered side again. I wonder if Valve read my mails or if more people suggested that solution. ^^

The Dead Ringer fixes were pretty much the only thing that I was interested in but all the other changes/fixes are awesome too - geez, Valve is so cool with TF2 (unlike with L4D :-P).

P.S. Unlike Dekar I thought the Cloak & Dagger was quite crappy and still won't be using it no matter the buffs - the waiting in the corner gameplay style just doesn't fit my fail-Spy. :-D

I like the upgrades :)
Didn't expect the C&D to be upgraded either, but I can't complain.
As for the ambassador, I can understand why they nerfed it. When you get close enough your chances to get a HS goes up rather high, since the spread of the inaccurate shots aren't too horrible :o

This was already expected. Soldier is not the only class to profit form it, all do but some more and some less.
First one to post the keybind for it gets a cookie.

spy buffs are mostly just annoying for me cos I never play spy anymore, but otherwise, nice n' solid update; especially the tele destruction bug, that's really screwed me over a few times now.

As posted as answer to Relentless question there are more changes and side effects in recent update:

SIDE EFFECTS FROM OTHER CHANGES
A Pyro's air blast will now extinguish burning disguised enemy Spies, since knockback no longer affects disguised enemy Spies.
The left-handed Flamethrower has flames that appear out of your left side, but the hitboxes will remain on the right. Only left-handed projectile weapons including, but not limited to, the Soldier's Rockets, the Demoman's Grenades/Stickies, and the Sniper's Arrows will both appear and hit from the left side.
When using the Dead Ringer, any additional cloak a Spy gains from ammo pickups will act as "regular" cloak, taking full damage and flickering when appropriate.
When using the left-handed versions of the Heavy's Fists or KGB, left-click will trigger a right punch and right-click will trigger a left punch instead of the normally matching sides scheme.

BUGS
Despite the patch notes saying otherwise, the Cloak and Dagger now recharges slower while cloaked.
Left-handed weapons that contain text (the Scout's Bonk! and the Spy's Electro-Sapper) will have words appear mirrored instead of reading properly.
The left-handed version of the Dead Ringer has a bugged model and does/may not display the cloak bars properly.
The Sniper Rifle no longer fires through teammates.[24][25]

Why? Doesnt matter for the sniper rifle if youre shooting left or righthanded, since hitscan weapon's bullets come from the middle of the screen, unlike a rocketlauncher's projectiles. If the viewmodel is distracting you, you can as well turn it off.

Unless you talk about the huntsman, but its really a minor "buff" and I dont expect "serious" snipers to use the huntsman :mrgreen:

So the Ambassador is basically useless now to take out engi nests from the other side of the map. :ugly:
Back to normal revolver.

DR is my new old favorite watch after playing with it a bit.

Ofc, I dont have to remember using that button know. I actually havent used it once in a real game.
