Gamestar wrote that it's supporting keyboard nicely... and why shouldn't it be controllable with keyboard? It's basically the same control type as a gamepad. ;)

The Necromancer (4970)
SF (unlike e.g. MK) on the keyboard is just fail. :-P
Some things work but others are simply unachievable in a game where most of the characters are based around partial circles.

Well - they WOULDN'T be achievable if Capcom hadn't introduced those annoying shortcuts that make better players play worse because some moves come out randomly and newbies play better...

E.g. You can do a Shoryuken by just pressing df, df + punch instead of the full dragon punch motion. -.-

What now? Something like the Dragonball games? No difficult heavy motionmaking, but just randomly using buttons 2 make the biggest attacks? :(
That was actually the part what made it fun, learning the skills from scratch and playing full days b4 u actually got used 2 playing with an individual character :D

Yeah - you can watch a video on Youtube where somebody showed the control inputs for online replays and it's incredibly sad to see how some newbies are mashing their buttons to make moves come out instead of actually learning to perform them correctly and time them on demand... Ah well... At least we have some good SF players in the community (no, not you Relentless! :-P) so we will have nice matches, I guess.

Minimoose is just too awesome.
What's that Lim-Dul? I would have to disagree with you there.

Oh, c'mon Minimoose - we know how epic our matches were - I kept the replays for future generations. Forget Justin Wong vs Daigo Umehara - Lim-Dul vs Minimoose is where the action's at. ^^

By the way - I have a fully working copy of SFIV now - including online play - I'll write about it later in the proper thread. :-P

I will, because I like to pay developers that released a cool game and I already know that I will be playing SFIV a lot.
However, here's a little tip - apparently Games for Windows Live is quite retarded and you can use ANY Live key that comes with ANY game to play ALL Live enabled games online. 0_o
So - if you don't want to pay so much for SFIV because you're not certain if it's up your alley, then you can buy any old game for like 5-10 Euros and use the key to register the... uhm... "unofficial" version of SFIV. ;-)

The earliest Live enabled game would be Halo 2 for which I sadly only own the review version but I found that Kane & Lynch is sold quite cheaply because it's such a shitty game. :-D

'nother idea: how about some classic 2D Worms titles (like Armageddon and World Party)? as far as I'm aware, online is still supported for them and they should be a giggle with mumble on!

the problem about these titles are that they are so old vista probably won't run them, your colors are going to change back to 256 8bit, and you'll have problems with running different programs in the background, at least that's my experience since I actually have tried this :P

hmm, I got worms armageddon running without problems on vista 64, it just needed a patch and an update. dunno if online works though, didn't try that out.

edit: but you're right about the colour screwing up; it does that sometimes on alt-tab, but it did that even when the game was new, I think it's a bug that's been around forever :p
