Tried it out. Gameplay is very much like CS, with a few extra twists, like cloaking and special vision.
Very good mod all in all :)

Yea, some more details would be nice. Their site is back up now I think though, providing links to a manual and a hints & tips page. Still no weapon stats there. The only thing is the very small bars displayed in the weapon images when you choose weapons.. Though it's so small I can't see what stats the bars represents.
Oh well, the info gonna show up sooner or later somewhere, I have no doubts about that :)

I already had some great moments playing as Recon:

Placing my detonation pack next to the ghost close to the enemys capture point, waiting for someone to pick it up just to get blown up a second later. Then taking the ghost myself, locating an enemy, dropping it and killing the guy with my pistol, standing cloaked right infront of him after turning a corner.
Picking up the ghost again I meet with the last teammate alive, giving him the location of our last enemy, failing to get out my pistol  , get killed but seeing a quick reveng through my teammate and winning the round.
That round had everything.

Or planting the detonation pack in the middle of the closest entrypoint to the enemys capture point with all other people of my team dead and ghost in enemy hands. Then walking away from the capture point and feigning a flanking manouver. The ghost carrier comes to said doorway, sees the bomb and hesitates, decides to run for it, gets blown to pieces together with another guy. :4
Too bad the last enemy killed me. :|

Yep! I mean, I've only seen one of the movies, think it was the first one, and I was as confused as sloth on speed after watching it (still nothing compared to Neongis Evangelion, but still). But that doesn't change the fact that spidertanks looks awesome! :D
As long as you don't have a deep hatred for all that is Japanese it's definitely worth a try ;)

after my first play, it definately of the counterstrike/battlefield breed (no vehicles ofc) but very, verrry slow. when I'm 'sprinting' I literally cannot tell the difference between that and 'running' which, in itsself, feels like walking.

I'm probably just doing it wrong, but recons are supposed to be the run-in-run-out typ, but they move so slow that it's barely worth it I find. still, early days yet, looks like that has potential.

No, I think that's actually how fast you sprint. Either that or i'm also doing it wrong :P
Though mind that the support class can't sprint at all.
And as staberas pointed out, if you're playing recon you can sprint forward and jump to preform long jumps.
Lets you cover some ground, as well as taking some shortcuts over certain pits ;)

Don't know if it was due to the weapon I had equipped (A shotgun, but do they even affect walking speed?), but this was just dumb. Almost felt like walking about as a Heavy with your minigun spinning. How am I supposed to get in range with a freaking shotgun this way?

I'm clearly doing something wrong here.

You can bunny jump as recon. Follow a double long jump with more normal jumps to keep your momentum. Cant change the direction though.

I heard holding a secondary wepaon increases movespeed a bit, but I didnt really notice a difference.

I've went recon with sprint+double jump and I won't complain about the games speed again, thanks :4

it'll take getting used to, but will probably be entertaining once I get into it.
