Holy God...

I don't know if this could ever live up to the original. And it would have to go some way to doing so cause quite frankly, Band of Brothers is one of the greatest things ever put to film in my opinion. I hope it does though, cause if they could emulate that greatness, then I'd be as happy as a pig in shit.

I've watched Band of Brothers countless times! :O
One of the best HBO series there is, so this is looking promising.

Usually the Original series are quite frankly better then the ones made after.

I thought i even saw some lovescenes -.-
The pacific battles were more epic then the ones in europe. That is also something very difficult to reproduce. But it will give a bigger edge :)
I do hope they can live up to the name they built with the original series :)

Anyway Tour Of Duty still PWNS all :)

Yes, yes, yes.

But I can't watch only one episode from The Pacific. I just can't yet as I'm not going to be able to take all the waiting.

The first episode looks VERY promising. But it's still too early to tell if it's as good as Band of Brothers.

Yeah but what do you think they record the original footage on to? Straight on to VHS or DVD? Nope. That would be, all together now; Film. :5:

If you're going to correct me, at least know what you're talking about first eh? :18

lol moist you pedantic fuck hehe  :5:

i love that its a series, means they can explore more characters/situations and events during the war. which is why i pretty much hated saving private ryan, apart from the epic beach landing and the sniper stuff the rest of it was toilet. i actually like the characters in Band of Brothers, even the annoying ones - unlike Saving Ryan.

I saw the first part yesterday and i got to say it's really good and i think it will be about the same as Band of brothers because basically it's Bob the only difference is instead of Europe we got the Pacific ( they even got the veterans telling their experience at the beginning :ugly: ). So if you like ww2/history movies this won't disappoint you :) , next part Basilone (Mar/21/2010) .

I'm on episode nine which I watched last night. A real tear jerker in some episodes, it really captures how ghastly that war was.

it cant even hold a candle to BoB, ive started rewatching BoB now and it is till breath taking and amazing piece of character work . the pacific is ok, but its always the same fucking island, its like watching Lost! (yes i know thats what alot of the pacific war was fought on.) and there are characters dying who i dont give a shit about because i dont know them at all, this series really failed by not having a curreeeee (cant be fucked to spell it right) episode.

You expected Band of Brothers? Steven Spielberg even said that there would be two different themes during the filming and expected some people to think just like you.
