It's rather annoying getting autobalanced from the winning to the losing team in the last 2 minutes when it's too late, or even worse WHILE the last point is being capped.

Sounds good but there is a problem...so we say player X joins team blue and just a few sec later some red leaves and X gets balanced to red and then some blues leave.....poor guy.....(this has happened to me first i got auto from red to blue and a minute later auto back to red :S)

Is there any way to speed up in-game balancer ? It usually takes about 5 minutes for game to realize teams are unbalanced and another 5 to actually balance anybody :|

A balance system based on the skill level produced by Psychostats would be, sadly, unbalanced. DUE TO THE FACT that some people dont play enough or simply "fuck around"

As you see, the SUPER SKILLED NON-REGULAR is CLEARLY better per-play session.
However due to this player not playing as MUCH as the REGULAR player, his or her (if there were girls on the internet) skill level will be LOWER than the medium-skilled player.
This means that someone who is by all means a NINJA ingame, might be rated as a low-ranked player and therefore unbalancing the game.
No matter HOW one rates someone, the rank will never be accurate. The only thing a rating system really does is show how long someone plays or have played.

Youre clearly wrong about psychostats, Im playing regularly, and my skill graph looks something like this:

Thats why I think psychostats are shite, cause the better I play the more my skill falls down, and basically Im stuck at about 14.500-14.800 skill since December 1942.

That proves my point - we have identical k/d ratio, nearly same playing time, our most used classes are demoman and soldier, we kill more or less same people, and yet you have 8000 more skill points :ugly: This is hopeless, unless medic assists counts for 10000000 points/each, since you have a lot more.

Yeah it's most likely from medicing. You get a crapload of assists and bonus points. Though I rarely play medic nowdays.
What I've noticed and is even crappier about the system is that it encourages camping. Try it out. For a whole map do nothing but try to not get killed. If you play for 30m and all you do is get 8 points from killing 8 people while not dying at all your rank will go up. :ugly:

You can be the uber1337pro with a k:d ratio of 10, but if u play against noobs with low ranks or playrers completely new to the server ur rank will still drop, u just need to get killed by them, doesnt matter how often u kill them.
If u play ok, maybe with a negative k:d ratio, but against the top50, ur rank will rise. So joining the team with the best players isnt always the best decision.

Psychostats is usefull for spa point tracking business.

Other than that is just tells you who has the best combination of the following:
A: Awesome PC
B: Spare time
C: Awesome mouse aiming skills
D: Willingness to preserve oneself
E: Willingness to play a class that is good at racking up kills or points
F: Internet connection that doesn't suck balls
G: ZOMG we are loosing I better switch to the class I can pwn with

Something like that :mrgreen:

Wait actually it could be usefull for balancing considering factors C D E G

I think my skill is high because:

A) I switch against my team if it's winning badly (hence normally killing the decent regulars)
B) My computer sucks, so I make sure I always have 60 fps by making it look like Pokemon Yellow, if my fps drops from 60 to 40 as it does my aim will be right off so i have to have 60 :ugly: I say this because many people with decent computers push there's and don't mind it dropping below 60 slightly, since mine is bad I am more conscientious of my frame rate.
C) I play demo, soldier and medic (but only when I have someone competent to heal, otherwise I might as well heal a brick wall.
D) I don't run into sentries (Since a lot of low skilled players like to play engineer I guess you lose more points if you die from sentries, but its not about stats its just common sense to avoid suicide)
E) Medics like to look at my arse

Reasons why BartG can't go up in skill:

A) He plays spy
B) He plays spy
C) He plays spy
D) He concentrates more of whining about stats than actually playing
E) He plays spy
F) He hardly plays medic
G) He isn't as sexy as me

Reasons why the skill system is silly (but no one can come up with a better one, mainly because skill can't be measured by a formula really):

A) People who start now can kill anyone in the top 20 and get about 100000000000000 points even if they are awesome or crap (although this gives new players a chance to get into the high ranks, so I suppose its a good feature.
B) It favours certain classes, and in publics it isn't expecially hard to get a good score in any class as long as you play it sensibly (although scout/spy is hard), but soldier/demo/medic are especially easy.

I got into the top 100 with my old pc with which I was happy to get steady 20 fps ( not including random loading stutters ), so PSs definitly tells you nothing aobut the PC. :ugly:

A,B,C,,E I play spy very rarely nowadays, because since the update everyone is paranoid and its hard to suceed.
D I enjoy my whine with cheese
F I tried to play medic today to see how it will affect my rank, but as you said I would rather heal brick wall ( or teleporter ), I healed 13000+, launched 8 charges ( 3 kritz 5 ubers ) and got 11 assists whole round @ badlands ( abiout 15 minutes ) :ugly:

10 times, cause no one would care to protect medic, on assists I ubered a demo against 2 engis setup and all he did was put 8 stickies under ONE sentry, killed it and then we were raped by another sentry. And he was one of MONGO guys, so no newbie. After this I ragequited medic.

Badlands can be pretty frustrating to play as medic due to the large size and open spaces. Also the fact that many people FUCKING SUCK AT PROTECTING THE GODDAMN MEDIC!!1 RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR.
