To be honest (just woke up, didn't eat yet, grumpy as fuck, feel like offing myself, etc.) I think you all are a bunch of whiny bitches!!!!
I played a game of tf2 last night against demm with mint as medic heavy combo and a whole team to back em up, teams were majorly unfair and there was absolutely no one doing anything about it, if we are talking about balance in a game... (only ones tryin to do something about it as far as i could see were bam and me on the opposite team)
I already pointed out a million times that teams should be made fair by the players in it, if players don't do it, admins can force it. Since tf2 came out and we started hosting servers, this never has been done properly! Listen , I understand that the combination of Mint and Demm is working well at that point in time, but there would be whole team behind them we could swap as well.
This is almost every single freaking time a game/level/map starts, one team gets fucked up the bum badly and no one doing anything to even the teams out on a proper way...
Start doing something about that before you guys start whining again... :?
The game and we suck like this, in case you hadn't noticed...

It happens more often that not that at the beginning of the map everyone frantically clicks on the Red door to join the team and pubstomp the poor random/blu joiners.

If I'm tired of loosing I just click on the red door

Seriously, I reckon a /callvote scramble could do some good. Hasn't it been discussed over and out already, tho?

looks like you just had a bad night - I can say that pretty much 100 percent of the time that teams are unbalanced, it's brought up in admin chat and if it's a problem then yes, we do something about it.

I haven't experienced any steamrolling for quite some time tbh. Well, except from me kicking Awesome's ass while we're filling servers. xD

And I've said this before, steamrolling only happens when one team has no interest in teamplay. It's not personal skill that drowns a team, it's bad team composition. No medics, no firepower classes, nobody helping engies build their stuff and so on. Nowdays however there's lots of people interested in how their team performs, people that ask for classes in chat, suggest stuff to teammates and so on.

The public ETF2L server got a system that automatically scrambles the teams, if a certain team get's a win streak of 3, or more. I guess the number for this can be changed to the best fitting, but it seems like a very stable and fair system - and it makes the rounds last 10 mins or more, instead of 2-5 mins. Could maybe be worth giving it a shot? :)

Because I wanted to see if between all the admins there someone would do something. If what you guys are saying is true, it'd be fine, no problem, but I have a hard time believing what you guys are depicting here.

well, I haven't been on the admin side of things for very long, but what happened in your game sounds to me like more or less a one-off, yeah.

I really doubt that what your saying is true. When I used to play more tf2, You could see this happening in almost 90% of all games.

First of all i choose auto-join almost all the time - mostly because joining team manually is about 50/50 chance Ill end in spectator and have to retry, and come on dont say to me spa members that "Ill join other team when other is being steamrolled", Ill play long enough here to know, that there are only few spa members who will do that on their own without moaning from otherplayers. I dont mind joining weaker team, its always nice to kill spa's, and you can gain more points in stats :ugly:

I rarely, if ever, used the auto-join team when I were new on the servers. Nowadays I auto-join a team most of the time, although sometimes I admit I join a specific team if it has a friend of mine or two in it.

I rarely leave the server if my team gets steamrolled - just suck it up and drive on is my motto. :18

@bart
You were there, yesterday on badlands blue god trampled in the first round, losing it in a couple of minutes. They got pushed back on last cap in the second round when all of the sudden they started to fight back, ending in reds getting pushed all the way back to their spire.
What changed? Nothing but blue deciding to redo composition and play as a team. Nobody had to switch to make the game even. All it took was for the losing team to care about it.

Played on Wednesday after a long break and didn't recognized any unbalance for a couple of hours. I'd join the weaker team, but I feel more helpfull sabotaging the stronger team with my awesome skill. :ugly:

To 97% I'm using auto-team and the 3% are for join-the-much-cooler-red-team-with-its-captain-awesome. :4

Bucky, please get your facts straight before you call names like that.

The teams weren't so unbalanced as you said they were. The first round was pretty long with several re-caps of points 2 and 3. Only after our team won this round, the following rounds were a bit quicker, but certainly not a steamroll.
Our team wasn't any good either. Mint and me both had more than twice the points of the next guys on the scoreboard. Apart from Annarack, we didn't have any backup at all.

You were in mumble with us the whole time. Not once did you say anything that you think the teams are unfair. Also, nobody in game ever said anything. That's because the teams weren't unfair.

I'm usually one of the first to switch teams if they're really unbalanced but you can't blame me for wanting at least 1 other player in my team I can rely on.

Apart from that, you sounded so stoned, I really wonder why you even care. You seemed to have a good time :demm:

Just wanted to point out a fact. Teams were unfair, you could've taken a look at the scores, you two not counted, your team had way more points then the opposite team where Bam and me were in, difference was astonishingly bad and makes me wonder why so many of you guys think that's still fair (and don't give me that bullcrap not to look at points to find out if teams are unbalanced, I did look further then a nose length :?, to use a dutch saying in this). Next to that, you guys already had a difference of 2 - 0 at that point. I didn't point out your two names to blame you guys on anything, that's why I emphasized the fact that there was a whole team behind you.
I didn't say anything cuz I'm tired of seeming the only one who really wants to change the fact there's almost always one team being majorly fucked (and fuck the nerd terms btw! steamrollin, griefing, trolling, etc. Before you know it we'll only be having tomatoe tomato discussions on the forum :?). Maybe things have changed in the mean time and past couple of months I more or less stopped playing TF2 but with what happened in the past, I'll just have to see it to believe it. Like I said, a half year back more or less 90% of all games were unbalanced and more or less 80% of all SpA admins out there wouldn't give a fuck. But listen, if all you guys are depicting is true, there's no problem, right?
Let's assume that's true and give you guys the benefit of the doubt. I'll just drop in once in a while to see if things are idd changed. If not, time for plan B.

I think Mr 87 has it spot on. Maybe we should look into a system like they have.

I do think it's an issue though this stacking, but if I'm the only spa sometimes on a team, I'll ask in admin chat for someone to please join my team, but nobody ever answers lol.

I tend to look for the "weaker" team to join in the first place. Most of my favourite character classes (Demo, Engie, Pyro and medic) suit being on a losing team (as long as we aren't steam-rolled too quickly). Of course, on the cart mapds, this also means I prefer to be on red.

that teams are mostly and always fair is in my opinion a load of crap and as far as i've seen, things aren't fine, but I'll leave you guys to it, I'm done with TF2 and fairness, you guys solve it yourselves, I'm done with the game and done with the playing styles on our servers...

Mate, it's not admins fault that some teams end up with selfish people who do not want to teamwork. In terms of general skill or call it however you like there are no steamrolling stacks. But, again, if the players from a team don't give a shit and just want to play sniper on dustbowl even if they completely suck at it there's nothing we can do.

Like today for two maps I was on the team that was losing quite severly but that wasn't because of stack, that was because most of the teammates didn't care. We had only one medic on both dustbowl and turbine, a bad one too.

I play there more than on our SpA servers and I was thinking this would be quite good also, however:

etf2l uses a timelimit, if 3 (I think it's 3) rounds are won in a row the teams are scrambled. But since our servers have 3 rounds maximum I'm not sure how the scrambler would see unfair teams.

Also, the team scrambler will kill people to switch.. which will offend our statwhores O:

I was on that one I believe, no stacking at all, just crap players. Exactly as you said.

You have a dilemma on these teams, whether to switch to medic and heal people who suck, or not switch to medic and get rolled anyway.

this can sometimes happen, or sometimes it you can actually salvage the situation. it's pretty rare that everyone on the team is so dire that they fail completely when they're ubercharged. but if they're truly getting steamrolled like that, well, it's pretty much a lost cause, to the point that even manually switching players from team to team won't make a dent in the final outcome.
