Some of you may know that I am into photography and that I cover dance events, mainly raves. I do this either myself by going to a rave and taking my camera, or a promote pays me to take photos.
I use a website called
DontStayIn.com, which is the biggest dance music website in the world. You list events, upload photos, chat and submit articles and so on.
When you sign up to the site you have the option to become a spotter, which I did, and through that I got into photography. I bought a D-SLR, which I still have now, but instead of the standard crap kit lens it came with, I now have much better equipment, although the camera itself is a couple of years old now and I am due for an upgrade.
Anyway, all that intro bollocks aside, which you didn't need to know can now be ignored and I'll tell you what I originally meant to tell you, but got side tracked into telling you all that in case you wanted to know...
Right...
Some spotters on there, including myself take the photo side of things on the website more seriously and, over time, if good enough, you're giving a Pro Spotter badge. This means that you're part of the the
chosen few, if you wish, which take the best photos on that site.
I was recently given the Pro Spotter badge!
They have a group on there where you can put yourself forward to becoming a Pro Spotter which I did make a thread about. They said I was good but needed to be more selective with which photos I put up and have to take more photos of punters, instead of DJs, which I had a habit of doing.
I was speaking to one of the guys in charge of the site in their live chat system, who saw my photos and said they're awesome and made made me a Pro Spotter.
So yeah, that's it really.
If anyone wants to see my favourite photos on my profile page, here's the link -

Here's the link to my galleries too if you want to see more photos. You'll get to go back to galleries of when I started out with a compact and see how I progressed -
