Yes I lost my iphone yesterday in a cafe..
what can i do! please advise!

I need to call bac later to see if they found it.. but my hopes are low.. already blocked my sim..

Report it stolen then it will be blocked and whomever has it won't be able to use it so it will be completely useless to them. But in the meantime keep ringing it in the hope that someone picks it up and returns it. You never know it might still be at the cafe and they are waiting for someone to claim it.

I already got my sim blocked. is there away the police can trace it with the imei number? or am is that just jibberish

Not sure if they can trace it but they can get it blocked so that it doesn't matter what sim card they put in they will not be able to use it.

Well, if you block it, they can't use it anymore, that gives you a good chance that they threw the sim card out ages ago. Next to that, every single imei or code on your phone can easily be flashed to another code.
Don't you insure your mobiles when you buy an expensive one? You should in the future
You can even throw the phone in a pond yourself on purpose and get a new one

I insured my phone.. but it wont cvover the costs.. I lost so I wont get a new one. they need the police statement.. so i wont come off that it fell in a pond or so...
Anyway later this day i will hear from the cafe if they found it. my fingers are crossed

Did you have a mobile me account? I have mine enabled on my iphone, so that if it goes missing, I can get a gps reading telling me where it is (approximately).

Still, If they are smart crooks, they'd throw away the SIM card, turn off the phone and turn it on when you're gonna change the phone IMEI.
