Some of the best Spec ops missions:

Homeland Security:
You have to defend a small gas tank against five waves of enemies. First wave is just guys, next waves is soldiers supported by predator missiles. Third wave is soldiers protected by a helicopter and predator missiles. Fourth wave is soldiers, a BRT and a predator missile. Last wave is soldiers, 2 helicopters, 1 BRT and predator missiles. Mr. 87 and I played it, and by last wave we were out of RPG's. So after killing the soldiers we took turns in sprinting out to search for new ones. We didn't find any, so 87 started taking out the helicopters with assault rifles, while I ran in circles around the BRT, trying to persuade the UAV to shoot it down with predator missiles. Against all expectations, this tactic worked :P

Overwatch:
One guy is controlling an AC-130 and has to protect the other guy, who will be running to the exit. This is one of the missions from CoD4 (The one where you crash with you helicopter, and the AC-130 turns up in the end). 87 did the running here, while I protected him. The mission is timed, so we did the mistake early on to just storm forward. We found out that there is PLENTY of time to complete the veteran course, so after a few failures we took it easy, so I could clear out the areas before he ran forward.

Big Brother:
In this mission, one player has to run to the extraction point while the other provides cover from a helicopter-attached minigun. I did the running and 87 did the flying. We had alot of problems, as these guys are VERY tough on veteran, and since the helicopter has a VERY limited box to hit inside, and most hits has to be taken within a few seconds, or the helicopter will turn out of sight. After a few tries, we managed to get the the extraction point, at which time 87 shot me in the back, and we had to do it over :P

Hidden:
Takes place in Prypiat. You have to get to the finish line, but inbetween are alot of snipers, which are VERY well hidden. They are virtually impossible to spot, so when you do make it to the finish line, you feel very good :)

Estate Takedown:
A very easy, nevertheless fun map, where the objective is to kill all enemies (40). The map features both snipers, assaulters, Juggernauts (Well-armoured units, that takes 4 sniper-shots to the head to kill) and a small building you have to clear out.

Snatch & Grab:
This is possibly the hardest map we played. After a few tries, we gave up for today. The enemies here are VERY hard, and are good at hiding. What 87 and I did was that I would run forward to a cover, while 87 would stay back and cover me with the sniper. When I reached the cover, the enemies would move to get a better shot at me, at which point 87 would start sniping them, while I tried to keep them away. After a few tries, we made it to the half-way point with ease. Here, you will have to go through half a plane fuselage and drop down on the other side. Problem was that there was no cover on the other side. 87 would start sniping the enemies from inside the fuselage, while I would stay behind him to take the Juggernaut that would appear halfway through 87's enemies. Our problem was that once we had killed them all, I would drop down, run to a small box that was the only cover, when enemies would rush forward from all sides. The box does not provide enough cover, and I kept dying to flanking manoeuvres, while 87 would be incapable of jumping down to get me up in time, because of the sheer amount of enemies.

We are going to complete Snatch & Grab soon though, as it is a very cool mission. We still have a few missions left to complete for three stars too :)

Not even worth the electricity it takes to power my PC for 3 hours while DL'ing a cracked copy.
Just watch a shitty stream of mw2 so it doesn't look good, taking away the graphics you're left with cod4 but worse in every aspect. xD

Why do you even care to comment on stuff like that, if you have not tried the game?

I've had more fun with MW2 - especially multiplayer - than I ever had with CoD4. They took away the aspects of CoD4 MP that everyone hated, but now people won't even bother trying it out. The game have become more tactical, instead of a spamfest of spawnkills, random nades, campers and martyrdom.

The only bad thing that I can find about it, is the possibility of lag (which I haven't encountered yet) due to the way the servers run now - but after a little patching, I'm sure it won't be a problem.

@Spike: I'll be on later so we can finish the last Spec Ops missions with full stars. :4

They cannot patch potential hosts having bad computers or internet connects/living in farfaraway.

Because cod4 is everything that is wrong with pc gaming and I hate the series with a passion. I get carried away.
As my title says, I'm crap at posting. Also, I've watched videos...not trying the game is the whole point of a boycott.

True, but I'm sure the IWNet system itself can be further improved to run in the best way possible. Also, it will always search for a game with the best ping, so the possibility of landing on a bad host is quite low anyway. Since I got the game, I have yet to play with a ping below three green bars.

MW2 is about 11 gigs right?

For some reason I have downloaded 27 gigabytes in this session (not to count the one before which got me to 20%) and I'm at 70%

I heard 3 green bars equals about 100 ping. Not necessarily something really good, compared to games with dedicated servers.

Also, in 2 or 3 weeks, when the first hype is over, many people will realise how bad the multiplayer is in reality and quit, thus reducing the amount of potential good hosts, which will make the multiplayer even crappier, which will make even more people quit, which reduces the amount of potential good hosts even further etc.

This will be without a doubt the CoD that dies the fastest.

So I spent last day and 2 nights downloading modern warfare 2 and I shut down the computer at around 5 am to get some decent sleep since the download was done and my computer is fairly loud.

And now my hard drive's not detected. And that means it most likely won't be detected for the rest of sunday

I'll probably try some less-than advised physical shake "fixes" but it probably won't work

fml :|

edit: managed to get it work. thank god

Single player is as good and enjoyable as MW1. Didn't find it that short really.

Multiplayer is fun. Marathon+light armory (or whatever)+Commando+Knife=Awesomesauce*

Have about 17 Most knife kill.... badges or whatever those are.

*Probably good for only deathmatch
