The thing is, the scout is so powerful, using the 'side'grades almost always make you less effective. All they did was make you very annoying to play against, not actually dangerous to play against. I'm glad they are taking some of the 'annoying' parts away from the weapons.
The FaN is still stupidly easy to kill with, it was the only scout unlock worth using since the beginning anyway.

Yes, but the penalty against other scouts was at least a drawback for it because of the clip size (though it is better for "pop-up" attacks because of the fire rate).
Taking away the bonk against ubers made sense. The pyro airblast was a great way to stop ubers (but at great personal risk as the pyro has to not fire and get in close). Being able to stun an uber instantly (factoring in the re-spin up time from the heavy) that could be done from a safe distance was a little too much of an advantage to the scout and invalidated the chargeup time for the uber. I'd have been happy if it had just been altered into a taunt with a short static animation to put the scout at some risk, but being do-able on the fly, something had to be reduced in this matter.
