I'm starting work on a graphic novel with a few people and basically, I could use advice from a Medical person about certain theory aspects. I'm not talking a massive amount of stuff here, I'd just like to lend the story a bit of authenticity.

I know this is a little bit vague, I'm just back from the football and I'm a wee bit wiped out, but if anybody could help me I could go into detail about what I'm looking for.

I'd really appreciate it.

We dont have that system. Medschool is 6 years here instead of 4, of wich you work 3 years in the hospital. Surgical specialisations start also at 6 years total instead of 4. The last year of your internships you work as a resident on one specialisation, however that does not mean they are bound to sign you up after, nor that you should continue it if you dont like it. However, after finishing that you have to apply as a recident in the subject that you would like to do and stick with it, for example choose between orthopedic surgery or plastics.

Orthopedic surgery or childrens rehabilitation (that is not the same as with you, here its conservative orthopedics for a large part). But here you see the difference in systems, for at your country the first 2 are called fellowships not specialisations (very confusing). And ER is a specialisation but at your country its 5 years, from where I am now in this stage it would be 3 years only for me. So I dont really know where I am at in your system. It looks like we get the title somewhere else along the course as you do.

HAHAH yeah i know, but it was a hidden qeustion beacuse i was wondering if an ortopedic sergeon is some one who fixes joints etc like knees shoulders

it gets locked from time to time and it really hurts for days when that happens (like yesterday)

and dutch:

Mijn knie banden zijn te slap omdat me bovenbeen spieren te kort zijn. daarom kan mijn knie schijf teveel bewegen en daardoor schiet me knie dus wel is op slot!

Loose cruciate ligaments should not lead to lock-sensations nor to movement of the patella, only to instability, specially on turning fast like in sports as soccer. If your muscles are to short it would be more likely that the ligaments are to tight instead of to loose, that explenation does not make sense. Lock-sensations point to either a loose menisci or a corpus alienum. If you have true lock-sensations in wich you cannot fully extend or flex your knee, I would go to the docter again.

Honestly moist, i think you'll end up hitting a wall, especially if you are going down the serious route, unless you are well versed in medical practise or have excellent sources, or you were in that industry yourself, i dont think you will be able to hammer it home. Write what you know. Honestly saying this not to be a dick, but i know what its like, i've had to abandon a few scripts due to these reasons. By all means you have 100% of my support, just make sure you get the best possible sources of information and reference.

Youll do fine mcmoist, A lot of writers seem to attemot to study the professions and ideas they write about so its a good step

It would be cool if you could compile together some questions and see if you could ask a hospital , almost like a questionnaire.

Also , Ive just written a short script on an adaptation of true blood, would you mind reading it for me? it isnt perfect, but i do value your opinion sir
