Hey, I need a mobo for my parent's their pc. I was thinking of a mobo with onboard sound and video card so I don't have to go through the trouble of finding a budget vid card for them too, which will skew the price up another 25 euro probably, so, I found a couple of them. Most had the G35 chipset with em, does anyone of you have experience with that? These are a couple i found: Abit Fatal1ty F-I90HD http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/Mo ... Socket+775 ASRock ConRoe1333-DVI/H http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/Mo ... Socket+775 Asus P5E-VM HDMI http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/Mo ... Socket+775 Asus P5QL-CM http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/Mo ... Socket+775 MSI G43M2-F http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/Mo ... Socket+775 I'm thinking of buying one of the asus or the msi board. But the chipsets are g35 and g43 i think, I don't have any experience with these, does any of you do? |

I'm running my HTPC with the Asus M2A-VM/HDMI and this is a great piece of hardware. Runs all regular stuff smoothly. At your selection: * I won't buy something from the Fatality label. I always think that you pay extra just for the label. * ASRock is cheap and ok. * I'm running my PCs with ASUS boards only for the last years and never had any issues with'em. * MSI should be a good choice. * I don't know anything about the current chipset generation as I'm still running my Asus P5W DH Deluxe with the Intel 975X. |

Yeah, I'm a bit of an asus fanboy too, though I have encountered some problems. Some heat problems with the high end boards with Pim's pc, one of the striker extre 2 i think. The NB got to such high temps it finally burned the whole mobo. Other problems I've had were with a couple of boards back for 80 euros which I ran my amd dual core processor with. I was a bit disappointed with what amd had produced with their dual cores there, but hey, it ran for a while. But now I run the maximus formula for quite a while already and I really think it rocks. Those high end boards rock! Much attracts me to the asus boards, but I'm not gonna buy a 50 euro board for my folks, I already foresee much trouble with those cheap ass boards. To pay over 200 euro is not an option either. I think I'll just go look for some reviews on the net on those g35 and g43 chipsets and if everything looks ok, I'll just try it out and order it in. Not gonna be until the end of this month though. |

I had some nice EPOX boards in the past, which were great and not that expensive, but they are out of business IIRC. |

cool roofuz, you have to watch out with those high end asus boards though, we have tried a couple at pim's and there were some mods needed like an extra little fan taped on the NB and such, for the rest the boards pwn |
