Swinging ball sacks! The game is almost here, 21st I believe is the release date.

I'll probably buy this game just to show my support, It's only around 35€, but I can't wait to see what it's like.

Go go go:

I've already seen some complaints about the voice of Mona, but we'll see, downloading it now.

Yep - I couldn't wait for it was well - another awesome point&click adventure by former LucasArts employees. Will probably be writing a review on that one. ^^

Just finished it.

I can see why there's been complaints about the voice, it's quite high-pitched, but I got used to it. The other voices were fine though.

Nothing else to complain about really, I like the art style and the puzzle was alright.
I also liked the way you could get "ideas" in your inventory that could be used for later stages of the puzzle.

Well - that demo was... Uhm... Short... Like 5 clicks to finish it. 0_o

I'm a bit worried... I don't know if you followed the troublesome development of Vampyre Story but I think it might show... A game that gets delayed so much, ends up in the development limbo for extended periods of time etc. is bound to suffer quality wise...

Why am I saying that? Despite being incredibly short the following things happened in the demo:

1. it locked up on one occasion (starting a new game instead of loading an old one and immediately hovering the cursor over the entrance of the gravedigger's house)
2. it crashed on exit
3. I managed to glitch through the locked door, skipping the whole puzzle and making the game unsolvable

The "idea" thing is indeed quite nice because it justifies the characters not carrying around useless items and ties certain readily available solutions to a certain location.

I kinda liked the puzzle because it was mostly logical unlike the crazy stuff you were supposed to
do in games like e.g. Discworld.

I was surprised to see that the demo didn't show much of the game's humor - I hope the end product will be much funnier...

That's strange, I didn't have any technical problems with the demo.

I'm curious though, how did you glitch through the door?

I have absolutely no idea - I put the "afterburner" in the stove and after I clicked the door with the hot shovel once again I suddenly found myself standing outside without a way to leave the location. 0_o

Well, that's very ambitious of them, I hope they can do it. Where did you read this btw?

I don't have the game yet, hopefully it will arrive in a few days.

The review I read stated it has an open end... so one sequel seems to be sure.

I simply hate it when they make adventures with open ends like Runaway 2... bulls*** tbh. :(

We also get some more story details - AVS will be a trilogy, like LOTR or Star Wars, and the first two parts of that trilogy will be about Mona and Froderick escaping Draxsylvania, while the third game will take place in Paris.

Christ almighty, I ordered it 2 weeks ago. I knew some serious fuck-up must have occurred when it's taking this long.

Sure enough, turns out the site I ordered it from decided to change the name of the game to "A Vampire story" after I ordered it. In other words, the product I ordered no longer existed on the site. :?

So I sent an email their way, telling them to change the fucking name back and send me the now correctly fucking named game (which, according to the site, is in fucking stock).

Ok, I didn't word it exactly like that, but I should have. I should have...

The game now has its proper name on the site and was posted today, woo and yay.
