What if one of the spa servers would have only arena maps ?

well i think there is always one server empty almost all the time , so maybe if there will be only arena maps , some guys will join , so here you are no more empty server.

If it's about filling it though, run Goldrush 24/7.

Never played arena mode, so I don't know. :|
I'd rather like a crit only server! :mrgreen:

Dont be so sure, the number of crits has been reduced in crits update a lot. Of course there are 40x more crits when someone rush to me with melee weapon :shock:

We had an arena server in the past, but it never became popular (like the whole gamemode). :|

Truth be told we also had a nocrit server and it was quite unpopular - far fewer people played over there than on the custom map server after the initial "ZOMG, a nocrit server!" hype died. ;-)

I was "disconnected" at the time arena mode was introduced. When I got back online, nobody even played it anymore. It's a shame, because I really like it.
I would be in favor of a good arena server, seeing as we would have the only one in Europe we certainly would have some players. The last time I played I had to go to a shady Russian server, because it was the only one with a decent ping.

Yeah, I also liked it and didn't agree with the "no sitting out" plugins (plus increased slot count). To me sitting out was integral part of this gameplay mode and simply provided a different gameplay experience, akin to the times of CS etc. where you would be stuck in spectator mode for long periods of time as well - people nowadays are too impatient.

I'll voice Demm's reply too,

I also enjoyed Arena a lot, but too many people didn't like it, and I could almost never find any SpA people to help me fill it,

and seeing how there's no one out there, I'm guessing there could be room for one in europe.
and it increases my interest in TF2, since I'm tired of the normal play, and some times just can't be arsed to start it at all.

Just make it with not so many slots.

Id suggest not more than 18 slots ( =6v6 with 6 players sitting out)

+no crits and it can probably be really cool :)

Sitting out was the shittest idea, since you wouldnt sit out more than 10% of rounds if you perfrom really bad, being top of scoreaboard is 100% chance that you will sit out if you lose 2 rounds in a row. I enjoyed arena at first, but now all servers are either normal arena or 100 mods 32 player mayhem, which is worse than demoman spamfest on dustbowl stage 3 ;]
