Hmm, maybe not Illiterate (20)
So Spikespiegel decides to kick me for no reason at all and playing normally just like everyone else.
Apparently i was 'jerking' around whatever that means, yet i was one place and a couple of points behind him so what had he been doing the whole time if i was messing around?

He'll use the whole melee crap yet loads of other people were doing it, and it is part of the game so its meant to be used.

I didnt see anyone else complaining so you should stop taking TF2 so seriously as it is a game.

What does spike have to say on the matter

I wont put an opinion on it till i hear both sides ,

Also , probably not the best name for a topic , mainly because it is provoking.

You know - considering the topic title I immediately see your complaint as forfeited. I mean - even if Spike shouldn't have kicked you will not get any "sympathy" on our side by insulting one of our community members instead of simply presenting your case. You should heed your own advice and don't treat that so seriously and get all worked up about it.

In Giggles' defence (Yes, I know he's my brother, so I'm bound to defend him), he was just having a laugh. Isn't that what you're supposed to do on games?

Seriously, melee is in the game for a reason. If it wasn't to be used, it wouldn't be in the game. Giggles was playing on my computer at the time, and there were other people joining in with him and they had LESS points. So, tell me, why did Giggles get kicked for being useless to the team, when there were people doing worse?

People really need to lighten up when playing games. Does it really matter if you lose the match? No, it doesn't. You'll end up playing it another hundred-odd times anyway, so there's no need to take it so seriously. I recently almost got banned from a server on UT99 that I used to be staff on, because of me having a laugh.

Also, I rarely see people complain about Giggles. Infact, he seems well liked by quite a few members of the community and there are plenty of people who enjoy his meleeing. Of course, I can name at least 3 people who seem to dislike him for it, but they're the people who I see leave if they lose too much.

I think this whole issue should be forgotten about. But I also think kicking anyone for meleeing is taking things too far.

Starting the topic with hostility is the way to go if you don't want the matter resolved...

I personally don't see anything wrong with what Mr.Giggles does and that is mainly because there are many people who play the game with guns and still manage to get less points. Also melee is a valid weapon implemented in the game, so really it's the players choice whether they want to use it, it's like kicking an engineer for not putting a sentry up.

But as I said, your post really doesn't help your argument.

Let's not jump to conclusions. We haven't heard Spike's side of the story.
And indeed: choosing such a subjectname does get you noticed by the SpA-members, albeit in a negtive way.
But thanks for reporting when you feel like you've been treated injust so we can solve the issue (if there is one).

While we're on the subject of complaining about the behaviour of admins, I'd like to know why you, Mint, kicked me a few days ago.

If you don't like the way I play or behave (impeccable, on both), do tell.

Map was Gravel pit, I was playing Engineer and on team RED, you were on BLU.

I totally agree

We are all idiots

but seriously now... i do get the point; you are messing around doing nothing wrong and others think its ennoying that you melee and think ur fooling around and not playing seriously.

but best way i think in these cases is just to contact saint or bucky instead of bashing someone in public

ermmm... I think I know this moment, although I'm not sure if you are the person but spike did kick a wrong player (1..2.. maybe 3 days) ago by mistake. The "target" was a player who doesn't respet the rules and he kick a wrong one (he realised that after :P) so this whole thing may be just an unfortunate misunderstanding.

Kinda like last week when moPP, Priest and me were spectating a cheater and ended up banning Johnny by mistake. Loads of fun that was.

I don't know what happened but I'm sure Spike will be able to shed some more light on it. And, yeah, Giggles dude, calling people names is a bad way to go when you want people to listen to you and maybe correct a mistake. Especially since Spike is a long-time respected member.

Hmm, maybe not Illiterate (20)
So this thread has just confirmed a lot of things for me then. A lot of people on this server take things way to seriously and are incredibely boring as all you think about is points and winning when it is just a game and its meant to be played for fun.
So isnt it good to have someone that brings something different to the game rather than the same old playing style?. I only play this game to have fun and thats why i called this thread what i did becasue i was annoyed that i couldnt because i had been kicked for real reason.

You seem to think i have hugely offended him by calling him an idiot yet you do seem to care that your 'well respected staff member' calls people Jerks for no apparent reason and then decides to kick someone because he feels like it. Also what annoys me is people telling me how to play? I dont tell anyone how to play so why should anyone criticise how i play. Yes i know i could have just re-joined but thats not the point, the point is why are your staff kicking people without a real reason?

What I was saying that you should state your complaint in a way that doesn't start with insulting a member, even if that member insulted you. I know for a fact that many of the spa people find your style of play very funny, so how does spike kicking you mean that all spa members take the game so seriously? I don't see the logic, since I can't see one comment in this thread which insinuates that.

Also no one has been talking about winning in this thread either, most of the comments are based on the way the complaint was stated, which could have been avoided quite easily.

I have kicked quite a few people over the past week. But I have never done so without giving out a warning first. If you were kicked (and not banned), you were probably guilty of:
  1. Grieving
  2. Building on places you weren't allowed to (as an engineer ofcourse)
  3. Using inapproriate language/talking in a different language on voicecomms for two consecutive maps, even though being warned and muted
  4. or you were afk in spawn for a long time, at which point I freed up a spot
I could go find the logs to make sure I didnt make a mistake, but I really doubt it would help your case.

If I kicked you for "jerking around", you are guilty of #1.

Further discussion can be held in private chat between the two of you and If mrgiggles would like to file a complaint, that'd be possible with one of the higher admins/management, preferrably in chat as well.

Thx
