Well I'm not idling just to get a hat. I am bothered that I don't have one but I will find it much more exhilarating if I get it during gameplay..... and if I do get one in gameplay I promise to not scream like a girl down the mic....oh wait I am a girl

You are not idling just to get a hat? Then what is you OTHER reason to idle? Big electricity bills turn you on?

You won't have to if you got higher level items without the idler, because then it doesn't replace them unless they are a higher level, so it's not a problem for lots of people. (Such as me). A very smart friend of mine had an idea. It seems like the added item may be something that is given randomly to people's backpack. If you are actually in TF2, TF2 will know to quickly delete the item so you are not flagged for cheating. However, if using the idler, the item will not have been automatically deleted and thus your account will be flagged.

It's too soon to know for sure, but it looks like I'll have to program the idler to automatically delete these "cheat detector" items and we'll be fine.

Drunken F00l made an update to the idler which blocks items that could detect whether you're using the idler or something like that, he doesn't know if that's the way it works but he said he might as well try it ^^

They will only delete items unlocked by the idler, and your being a massive hypocrite by saying 'We don't know squat yet' then just before that saying 'Have fun re-earning your basic unlocks'. ^^ Also you won't be able to re-'earn' them, you'll have to wait to randomly get them again, unless you haven't done the achievements yet. They will get 1000s of complaints about it anyway, it's not like people replace TF2 with the idler, is it any better from valves point of view if people idle in a real server? That could be classed as 'cheating the item system', so now they will ban people for spending too long on a TF2 server where no one really plays TF2, to get around their stupid incomplete unlock system
