Hello

I am Raddox, and I just want to make an announcement on how I found minecraft and my approach to the game.

I was fumbling around JTV when I saw a live stream of some guy playing minecraft. I sat and watched it for a wile and decided to check it out ya know see what it was all about. Well I soon found myself in various multi player servers getting my feet wet and built some garbage stuff just foolin around. I stumbled across the sa.net server and decided to build something in the main. It was big and got me promoted to builder and then i just kept building in main and somehow got promoted to adv. I did not have fly hacks at all during this time. i built glass domes and all kinds of crazy stuff the hard way, no commands and no flying. Well, i did not know what builder was, and what adv was so i was still building in main until i started seeing a lot of text about a dragon in firelands... well i went to check it out and MTWDave pretty much changed my view of the game. I wanted to make things, not buildings. So then I started the Kraken in Ocean and thats what im doing right now.

I want to shout out a few other people that inspire me to build off the grid so to speek.

in no paticular order.

Barbearian - advbuilder3
Barbearian has a really great style and is very kind and humble. The Wolf head on adv3 gave me chills and is so epic.

MTWDave - firelands
Dave is really nice with his work. I think his dragon will stand out for a long time and is pure epic.

Tarok forgot what map
Tarok has a very cool style, he has a rock monster on a builder map (maybe b26) and it is just great. i think we can expect more great things to come from him.

Don_Don_Don
don don don is like an older bro to me, kinda showed me the ropes when i started building and even now still coaches me and brings a very positive vibe to my minecraft experience.

Fletchervand fletch is a good guy and great builder. He and I toss ideas around and give support when needed.

Mr_green_
green is just a down to earth good guy, i seem to be on when he is on a lot. and he is nice and cool.

just want to thank you all for the good times so far and hope to have many more.

-Raddox.

I was reading this newspaper once which has a weekly game review. Now the guy had been writing about all these big fuck-off expensive games, and one week he told all us readers "I am ashamed that I have devoted my time to the mainstream" to which he then was writing about how complex yet simply charming this new "Minecraft" game was.

I naturally jumped on google and learned all about it. The first level I joined was griefed to the shitter, with random blocks everywhere. I thought to my self "...where is all the pretty stuff that the newspaper was talking about". I tried another server and got the same. I was disheartened and gave up, naturally assuming that was all there was to Minecraft.

The next day, my curiosity got the best of me, and I tried another server. Chariot's Realistic Landscape. To all who know this server, I got banned from walking like 20 blocks and placing a brick. I then tried an attractive sounding server called "Degnebolig's Freebuild", and that is where I was blown away at some of the buildings there. As a lowly guest I constructed manya thing, and got some friends into it. With my good friend SgtSleepy who I convinced to play the game, we built an AT AT. It got destroyed within 20 minutes.

Naturally, I was rather disheartened, once again. After my long time on that server I had become an op. It was running off the standard software, and then I went through the integration to MCSharp. This created many stability and map issues and made me sick of the fucking around. The drama on the server was also unimaginable. I came to place blocks not cry. I then left Minecraft for good!

And then I stopped leaving Minecraft for good 3 months later, when I visited Special Attack Freebuild. I saw the citybuild maps and was instantly hooked. I was still in hectic school at that point, so promised to revisit and left. Revisit I did and started making my way up the ladder. Cuboid made me builder, and Xesdra made me everything else.

I am now an awesome superop on the best dang server Minecraft has to offer.

And THAT was my forum spam for the evening. If you read it all, think to yourself "I'm never going to meet this guy...why did I read all that boring shit", and if you didn't read it all, read it all and refer to my previous statement.

Peace

Well, now I feel like sharing my story about how I found Minecraft. I don't want to start a new thread, so if you have problems let me know, I'll delete the post or whatnot.

OK Enter Act 1: Scene 1, c. 2009:
I found a review for minecraft on Jayisgames.com, which I frequent for flash games and the like. (Link: http://jayisgames.com/archives/2009/07/minecraft.php)
So, the review looked pretty good, I decided to check it out. I signed up, picked a random Multiplayer server, which turned out to be "Redshift's Ocean Build". It turned out to be pretty fun, so I bookmarked "minecraft.net". I spent some time there, fixing random stuff and talking to people. Somewhere along the line, the server became Redshift's Ocean and Lava War. I soon met Redshift himself and whadaya know, one of his ops, Fragmer, who is our friendly fCraft coder! A week or two in, I think the server shut down and I dropped Minecraft in favour of some FPS games.

Act 2: Scene 1, c. April 2010:
My FPS, Crysis, died and everyone stopped playing, so I was stuck doing nothing for a time. Searching through my long list of bookmarks, I randomly clicked Minecraft. I decided to have a go again for boredom's sake and I decided on a server. I found a nice looking one, SpecialAttack.net Freebuild with a decent player count so I decided to join. I saw all these people with funny colour names and I ACTUALLY saw the message that said "Build something cool for builder!". So I set about doing that and HonoluluBoy gave me builder for the random tower I built. I rose through the ranks fairly quickly, thanks to Brewe for Adv and Op, and Spike for recommending me for Super OP. I've stayed ever since, and the rest, as they say, is history.

My history with Minecraft started about a year ago, when a friend show it to me. After few mins, i decided its not a cool game, just bookmarked it and go back playin crysis (that why Xesdra's nick was familiar i supose), CoD and Supreme Commander. Was comming from time to time on a lava survival i found - not a really good moderated server and full of griefers, or some random freebuilds. In this time i get banned form one cause i was trying to refill the hole a griefer made, and from a zombie survival for i-still-don't-know-what-but-maybe-for-a-pillar-i-made-for-climb-a-cliff. Wasn't ver active.

My history with SpA, begon 2 month ago, i were on vacation, and my laptop was only supporting minecraft, then i decided to play it. My sister began too, and looking for a server, she randomly cliced on "SpecialAttack.net Freebuild". The server was looking nice and i made a nice double pyramid for get builder (get destroyed 3 hours after end...). once i get builder, and was looking around, i saw that this server was way better from any other i've been on. Good anti grief, cool players,... An decided to play on it for a bit more - one week after i get builder i was reciving Adv for the spleef coliseum i made on B18, and 2 weeks after that was buying the game for i can play SMP with the friends i made on the server.

Now, as i get absolutely 0 inspiration i'm looking around on tthe server and helping those who need it, in wait of SMP and of something epic to made.

:5:

PS: Sure we're not a bit off-topic atm? Was not just raddox saying his history basicly?

Herm... History...
I was on some forums somewhere and somebody mentioned minecraft and "epic" in the same sentence. I googled it, created an account and learned the bare basics in "classic" mode single player. The first server I ever joined was The One's lava survival server. That got me addicted and I played that server for like a week solid till I visited home from college for the weekend. I was stupid enough to take a bathroom break with the game up, and one of my brothers sat down at my machine and started clicking randomly trying to figure out how to play. Of course his doing so flooded the server badly and got me banned :x (I've since appealed on their forums and been unbanned :D )

After that, I had to find a new server. First one I clicked was the SpA freebuild. With the help of my other brother (the one who DIDN'T accidently grief the lava survival server) I built a very large quantity of stuff on main. As all of my previous constructions had been lava survival oriented, it was a very new experience. I was hooked, and I've stuck around ever since.

Pretty useless (89)
My MineCraft history began eh... 2 months ago.
I searched for some new games, so I went on youtube and checked some LP`s.
I found a review of a minecraft smp server (I dont know, but i think it was TW)
So I went on Minecraft.net and took a look at the game.. and realized I have to buy the game
If i want to play SMP...
Sooo.. ehhh I got it from warez-bb (because ma Mum lost our paypal acc....)
Played some single player... died sometimes... and stopped playin.
1 Month later i saw a freebuild server review on cheatz.de (german gamesite)
And picked a randomly server with the most players.... taddaa!!! I was on SPA freebuild
and had no idea what to build.. and remembered a video in those some guys builded a appartment
I builded 1 too directly behind the spawm and got promoted by good old Mozilra...

Eh fine....

In the beginning FillerB was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move. To make up for this, FillerB, henceforth referred to as I, decided to play Minecraft. After dicking around a bit in InfDev, as Alpha was known in those forgotten ages (~2.5 months ago) I decided to give Creative Multiplayer a try. After playing on some servers, which sucked for various reason I cant recall, I landed on Freebuild. Made a weird desert-pyramid-NES-eden-tv-thing, then made a church out of lego-blocks. Got builder. Build more stuff. Got advbuilder from Sniper for Fat Man in b17. Made some guides. Got Op and after a while SupOp for god knows what reasons and finally decided to write my magnum opus... which I haven't done any work on yet.
Story of my minecraft life.

Who's your brother cman?

Anyway, the first time I heard about minecraft is on the Team Fortress 2 blog, I checked the little video of the guy making a small rollercoaster, I thought it looked rather awful and left, it is only months later that, someone, on a forums made a thread about it and how he was addicted to it. I didn't quite understand how you could be addicted to this game ao I googled it, watched some french video reviewing the free multiplayer and thought it was amazing what people could do. I've always been a fan of Lego and pixelart so it got interesting. I've made an account, joined a random server and started making stairs, I joined another empty server, griefed to death, I was exploring many servers, building small stuff, admiring what people could do in such a short period of time. It was funny because I was watching all the full servers and tried imagining all the story behind the builds, what happened when they built it. Anyway, once I joined a server and met some cool guys, I helped one of them build a house, while making the underground a griefer joined the server (hax and autoclicker). 2 minutes and our house was gone, we thought what the hell and said we'd come back tomorrow. The day after, we met again, started to build a house again when 2 griefing bots joined the server. I left and came back and the server was down, never to return. I was quite bored of all the griefing, I was looking through servers when I saw one of them with a max. player base of 64, I thought it was awesome, I joined, saw alot of people and admins, I also saw a wonderful server without anything griefed, I decided to make pixelart and built Airman. Then I built Tails. A certain pwnage_police came by and asked who's Tails was this, I said it was me, he asked me why I wasn't builder and said I didn't know. I got promoted to builder without even knowing what it was. Downloaded the WoM client and built an okay 3D master sword. I started visiting the builder maps and got my mind blown. I started a real project on Builder28, a Battlecruiser, slowly but surely built it, the idea popped in my head of a whole fleet, so I built 2 Wraiths and a Dropship, back then I thought advbuilder was extremely hard to get and set my expectations high so it was really nice, I had made the interior of all the ships and asked for inspection before finishing it, Peteporty inspected it and made me adv. Then I could copy paste and I finished with 1 BC, 4 Wraiths and 2 dropships. Not long after I joined the forums to say what I thought was problematic in the server, since, I was helping more than building now. Except for pixelart I wasn't building anything, instead I spent many hours helping players and kicking griefers and sometimes promoting people. I then got named mod with all the advs continued to help others. Now I finally have some inspiration again and am currently building the biggest Pokemon stadium SpA has ever seen and it's nice to take a break from "moderating" the server.
